Application - Firehazard testing

Principle - Thetester serves to investigate the fire-resistant properties of materials and endproducts. The glow-wire itself is the source of fire. The temperature of theglow-wire is set and controlled by a temperature controller. During a test thetemperature controller can be operated in a manual mode to generate a definedvoltage signal on the manipulated variable (glow-wire), thus avoiding afeedback of the reference variable (thermocouple) on the temperaturecontroller. The temperature of the glow-wire can be set from room temperatureto 1000℃. The temperature of theglow-wire is detected by a sheathed thermocouple te K (cl 1) in accordancewith IEC 60584-2.

During the testthe specimen is moved at a constant velocity of 11 mm/sec toward the glow-wireand back. The heating time of 30 sec is quartz controlled. The specimen supportis pulled toward the glow-wire with a force of 1 N. The power supply is 230 VAC
